Family Friendly Routes

A family bike ride can be a great way to spend time together, get outside and tire the young ones out so they’ll sleep later.

Cycling with young children is often easier and safer on traffic-free routes, so if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of traffic, Carmarthenshire has some fantastic traffic free routes on The Celtic Trail West, alongside some great family friendly routes.

An exciting new project is underway in the stunning Tywi Valley with the former redundant railway track between Carmarthen and Llandeilo being brought back to life as a major leisure and visitor attraction.

Providing a 16 mile traffic free pathway through one of the most scenic areas of Wales, it will follow an almost adjacent route to that of the River Tywi as it flows from Llandeilo to Carmarthen on its way to Carmarthen Bay.

Pembrey Country Park

Experience over 500 acres of beauty. There are trails through the woods as well as the paths around the park. If you fancy a longer rider then you can join onto the Millennium Coastal Path.

Bike hire is available, individual bikes or our 4 seater family bikes and a selection of adaptive bikes for a fun family activity for everyone inside the park.
