By Road

Carmarthenshire has excellent road communications. You can drive along the M4 from London to Pont Abraham in less than 4 hours and it’s a short hop on the A48 to Carmarthen. The A40 cuts across the width of the county from Llandovery to Whitland. Carmarthenshire can be connected easily by the M5, M6, M42 and M50. So no matter what part of Britain you are travelling from it couldn’t be easier.

 

By Coach and Bus

By Rail

Fast and frequent Great Western Railway services link London Paddington (3hrs) Wales and West provide direct and convenient services to Swansea from Manchester, Birmingham, Portsmouth Harbour and London Waterloo. There is a regular service to and from Swansea which calls at Llanelli, Burry Port, Kidwelly, Ferryside, Carmarthen and Whitland. In addition, Virgin Trains run a twice-daily service between the North East of England and Swansea (just 20minutes from Carmarthenshire) via Birmingham. Travelling by train couldn't be simpler. The Heart of Wales Line

Runs 120 miles from Swansea to Shrewsbury through some of Wales’ most attractive scenery. The line cuts up the eastern edge of the county through Ammanford, Llandybie, Llandeilo, Llangadog, Llanwrda, Llandovery, Cynghordy and on through to Powys.
