Merlin Half Marathon
Carmarthen Town.
The Merlin Half Marathon takes place in the centre of the oldest Town in Wales and is organised by Healthy Life Activities. Carmarthen plays host to this magnificent Half Marathon which starts and finishes at the St Catherine’s Walk Shopping Centre. Established in 2012 it attracted over 250 runners and we hope to build on it’s success this year. The route takes runners around the historical landmarks of Carmarthen and allows them to enjoy the mythical magic associated with Carmarthen and the ancient wizard Merlin. Carmarthen Castle, Knott’s Square and Guildhall square together with the Picton Monument are all within the 1st few miles with the route also taking runners around Carmarthen park and the century old cycling velodrome. Runners will pass through Johnstown, Llangunnor and Abergwili before heading back to St Catherine’s Walk for a superb Town centre finish. Partial road closures will be in place and you can enjoy the shopping feast Carmarthen has to offer together with some excellent food outlets to re-fuel after the race. The race will start at 9am. Runners can also donate or raise money for the John Hartson Cancer Foundation which is Healthy Life Activities official charity for 2013.
