Llandovery Sprint Triathlon

Llandovery is an ancient market town situated on the west bank of the upper reaches of the river Towy in Carmarthenshire. The name itself is an anglicised form of the welsh, Llanymddyfri, which means 'Church amongst the Waters'. The Triathlon will be a pool based event with a revised 22km ride taking you up the valley towards the village of Rhandirmwyn. You will turn in Rhandirmwyn and re-trace your path back towards Llandovery Leisure Ctr. A truly scenic bike ride which is undulating and with the 5km run to finish it will prove to be a huge favourite.

Dylan Thomas Retreat

Dylan Thomas Retreat

Hill House, Llansteffan, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire SA33 5JG.
This retreat will take a personal approach to the life and work of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas through discussing our own individual interpretations of his poetry and short stories, and the feelings they evoke. We will also explore the connection between the written words and the spoken voice when interpreting Dylan’s poems. There will be an opportunity to visit nearby sites connected to Dylan Thomas such as the village of Laugharne, where he lived the last years of his life, and the local Llansteffan pub, The Castle, which he frequented. You might try some reading aloud and writing as part of this retreat, and to prepare you in advance you will receive a compendium of Dylan’s poems and short stories.
