The Scarlets heritage tour lasts approximately 45 to 75 minutes. Provides the option of guided or unguided. 10% discount for group bookings of 10 or more. Every Wednesday and Friday afternoon, every week. The Trail at Parc y Scarlets provides a range of visitor experiences and learning opportunities from 1872 onwards using audio, visual and interactive software methods to tell the story of Llanelli and its world famous rugby club.

Seren Wen

Our winter exhibition for 2014 is Seren Wen (Bright Star) and features the work of more than twenty bright stars from the Applied and Fine Art fields in Wales, and the UK. A chance to find beautiful Christmas gifts specially selected and presented in the gallery along with high-quality craft, gifts and cards in the gallery shop. Our Artist Christmas Tree Commission this year will be a short film by photographer, Kate Dunwell which explores the Christmas tree plantation at her Pembrokeshire home.

Newcastle Emlyn Victorian Night

Newcastle Emlyn.
Lots of activities and things to do. Shops in the town centre will be open from 4 pm until 8.30pm and there will be competitions for local schools. Dancers and choirs will provide entertainment on the night, and of course Santa will be in his grotto. There will also be Shire horse and cart rides, a Victorian fun fair and stalls through the main street.

Festive Test for Schools

There’s still time to sign up for the annual Christmas Tree Decorating Competition at the National Botanic Garden of Wales. This year’s contest is on Thursday 4th December and the theme is “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” to help mark 100 years since Dylan Thomas’ birth. Schools will be up against the clock to decorate their Christmas tree using reused and recycled materials to create imaginative and colourful decorations based on this year’s theme.

The aims of the event are to:

  • Promote sustainability and the re-use and recycling of materials.
  • Enable pupils to get their creative juices flowing.
  • Have fun.

American cartoonist Charles Addams created this strange family in 1938 as a satirical inversion of the ideal American family; an eccentric, wealthy clan who delight in the macabre and are unaware (or simply don't care) that people find them bizarre or frightening. Originally published in The New Yorker magazine, the family have since been adapted to other media, including television (both live and animated) film and finally a Broadway musical.
