The National Wetlands Centre

The Botanical Gardens of Wales

Amongst the rolling green landscape of the Tywi valley is what looks like a giant raindrop. It’s actually a giant glass house - the largest of its kind in the world. This glasshouse is the centrepiece of the botanical gardens and maintains a Mediterranean climate throughout the year. It’s also home to many of the world’s most endangered plants.

The botanical gardens host events throughout the year. From open air concerts to woodworking weekends, the botanical gardens always have something going on to keep the whole family entertained.

Beautiful Beaches

From the golden stretches of Pendine and Pembrey to the beautiful estuaries of Laugharne and Llansteffan, Carmarthenshire has some of the most beautiful beaches in Wales.

Pembrey is home to our most beautiful country park. Though many people come exclusively for the golden sands, the acres of pine forest also provide the ideal place to go for a walk, cycle or pony trek. If you need even more excitement, there is also the chance to ski or snowboard on the purpose built ski slope.
