Family Activities in Carmarthenshire
Carmarthenshire is a great place for the whole family.
With some of the most interesting wildlife in the UK, miles of clean, golden beaches and a giant indoor jungle, Carmarthenshire will keep the whole family wanting more.
The National Wetlands Centre
With over 600 species of the world’s most spectacular birds, including the bright pink Caribbean flamingo, the National Wetlands Centre is a great place to bring the family.
This family oriented site is open all year and provides all the facilities and activities you need to keep the family amused all day long. From canoe safaris to hand feeding some of the rarest birds in the UK, the wetlands centre will give your family a day they will always remember.
The Botanical Gardens of Wales
Amongst the rolling green landscape of the Tywi valley is what looks like a giant raindrop. It’s actually a giant glass house - the largest of its kind in the world. This glasshouse is the centrepiece of the botanical gardens and maintains a Mediterranean climate throughout the year. It’s also home to many of the world’s most endangered plants.
Pembrey is home to our most beautiful country park. Though many people come exclusively for the golden sands, the acres of pine forest also provide the ideal place to go for a walk, cycle or pony trek. If you need even more excitement, there is also the chance to ski or snowboard on the purpose built ski slope.
