Winter Walks: beaches, mountains & rivers

Carmarthenshire has hundreds of miles of footpaths, taking you into the wonderful countryside, from mountains to fertile river valleys and also miles of coastal walks including the Wales Coast Path. Some of our favourite walks are the Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk in Laugharne, Millennium Coastal Park in Llanelli, the RSPB Reserve at Gwenffrwd Dinas and the vast Forests of Brechfa and Cilycwm.

Go Sledging if there’s Snow or Ice Skating or Skiing if there’s not!

If it snows Carmarthenshire has some great sledging spots, some of our favourites are Dinefwr Park near Llandeilo, Dryslwyn Castle in the Tywi Valley, Llandovery Castle and Mynydd Mawr Woodland Park in Tumble. There are also loads of other places, why not tell us about yours? If the snow doesn’t come then why not try skiing at Pembrey Country Park’s fantastic dry ski slope or for the young Torvil and Deans there’s a children’s ice rink at Play King in Llanelli.

And this year for the first time Carmarthenshire has its own Winter Wonderland in Carmarthen, with a real ice rink its sure to be a hit with the whole family!
