Choose your Christmas tree

You can get your Christmas trees from Llanddarog where Cymru Christmas Trees will let you select your tree and they will cut it and pack it for you, or head to Salem Christmas Tree Farm. They also supply trees in pots. Old Oak Barn near St. Clears have a limited number of lovely home grown Nordmann Firs for sale on Sunday 9th December between 9am – 3pm.

After Christmas is over why not take your real Christmas tree to be recycled at one of our Household Waste Recycling Centres in Nantycaws, Carmarthen; Trostre, Llanelli, Wernddu, Ammanford and Whitland. Please see carmarthenshire.gov.uk/recycling for more festive recycling ideas.

Visit Santa

Take a walk on the wild side this Christmas and feed the birds with Santa and much more at the Wetlands Centre in Llanelli every Sunday during December.

Steam into the festive season with Gwili Railway. Throughout December Gwilli Railway will be making sure Christmas wishes come true. Visit the railway’s very own Father Christmas and his little helpers in his grotto and jump aboard the travelling post office to make sure your letter heads straight to Lapland. There are presents for the little ones and a warming treat for mum and dad.

Experience a magical Christmas journey at Pembrey Country Park on Saturdays in December, full of treats and surprises! You can visit Father Christmas in his log cabin grotto and help out with tree decorations and cookie decorations.



Go to the Panto

What better way to celebrate Christmas than with a visit to the panto, there are lots to choose from this Christmas see Carmarthenshire theatres.

The fun starts with Aladdin at Carmarthen’s Lyric from December 14 – 16 and continues its run at Llanelli’s Ffwrnes Theatre from December 20 until Christmas Eve.

December 27th - 28th Ammanford Community Theatre will put on their version of Cinderella at the Miner’s Theatre. 

The fun continues as from January 10th - 27th as the Friendship Theatre Group perform its production of Jack & the Beanstalk at the Ffwrnes Theatre, guaranteed laughter  pantomime not to be missed
