1. Storytelling Weekend of Welsh Tales 

21st and 22nd July - Venture to the National Botanic Garden of Wales for their storytelling weekend for all the family. Enjoy Welsh legends, chuckle at the wicked yarns and relax knowing there are tales for the younger members of the family. Shop around the book fair and stretch your legs admiring the delights of the garden and the spectacular Norman Foster designed Glasshouse.

2. Festival of the Celts

27th to 28th July – This event returns for its 3rd year to Llandovery with marquees and live music, poetry, storytelling, delicious food and street markets. Browse the local craft stalls, sample real ales and kick back and relax listening to one of the 25 bands that will be performing.  Tickets for entry to this festival are free, except for the Ballroom and Marquee Stage’s being priced at £5.

3. Family Fun Day

18th August -  A great event for all the family at Carmarthen Showground .The day is bursting with activities and entertainment.Shop local crafts, enjoy the delicious refreshments and take a seat to listen to the live music. If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, then why not test your abilities on the inflatable assault course or the sports races, full for all the family.

4. Llandeilo Show/Sioe

18th August – Head down to the stunning Cawdor Fields in Ffairfach, just south of Llandeilo itself as the show celebrates its 152th event, bringing visitors fabulous cookery tents, delicious foods and dancing. Plus, the opportunity to watch classes for cattle, sheep, pigs and horses, not to mention the extremely popular dog show. The perfect day to browse local crafts and see some of Carmarthenshire’s finest.

5. The Big Cwtch

31st August & 1st September - Two packed days of music, Welsh cuisine and fun will be on offer in the heart of the Cothi Valley at this family friendly festival.  Experience upcoming music talent, wellbeing workshops, street food and local ales. Or if you fancy something a bit different jump in the hot tubs at the Après Ski Bar! Tickets for this charity festival are priced from £15 for an evening ticket or £30 for a day ticket. 6. Tour of Britain Grand Depart

2nd September – Don’t miss this incredible event as the Tour of Britain comes to Carmarthenshire for the very first time with the cycle race starting from Pembrey Country Park. Over 100 of the world’s top professional cyclists will be setting off to embark on a grueling 1,140-kilometre race around the country. Be there to wave them on their way and soak up the atmosphere as they power through the country’s 80kms of the route across to Carmarthen, Llandeilo, Llandovery and beyond to tackle the Black Mountains.

7. Speed Event Pendine

22nd and 23rd September - Venture onto Pendine Sands, on of Wales' longest beaches at 11km, to witness new speeds and times achieved by the very daring speed fanatics and petrol heads from across the world that congregate on the sands. Call in at Museum of Speed to see the famous ‘Babs’ who took the world land speed record in 1926 and a great way to understand the history behind the Top Speed Records Event.
