Tywi Valley Cycle Trails

Cycle through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Britain and take in some of the most outstanding castles in Wales.

Five cycle rides based on the towns of Llandeilo and Llandovery help you explore the lush Tywi Valley and keep fit at the same time.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

The routes include short, gentle rides along the level valley floor mixed with longer more varied trips. Whichever route you choose the countryside is amazing. Visit the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the first garden of its kind to be built in the UK for 200 years (Ride E). Set within landscaped parkland it has the Great Glasshouse as its centrepiece and boasts the longest herbaceous border in Britain.

Aberglasney Gardens

Nearby is Aberglasney, a garden lost in time. This 16th Century house and garden is one of the most remarkable garden restorations in the UK and is oif enormous historical importance. At its heart is a unique Elizabethan/Jacobean Cloister Garden. The garden also has a stunning yew tunnel and square lake (Ride A).

Another trail treats you to some stunning sights. The impressive Black Mountain, part of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the east, some of the longest sandiest beach in Wales to the south and the wonderful valleys of the north and west.
