If sitting still is not for you, then Carmarthenshire rises to the challenge by offering a range of activities guaranteed to thrill.

Because the landscape is so diverse, we’ve got the cream of the crop when it comes to walking and cycling. Go for the rough, tough terrain of the Brecon Beacons or gentler country paths and seaside strolls.

Canoeing at Llandysul

The mountain biking trails at the heart of Brechfa Forest are among the best in the UK and include some white-knuckle rides for the serious boy-racers.

Water babies can choose canoeing, kayaking or rafting along the Teifi Valley. The river’s rapids can be a real challenge, though you can opt for a more peaceful paddle along the coast.

Riding at Marros

Or you can see it all on horse-back. There are horses to suit all abilities at the Marros Riding Centre and a wide range of equestrian-themed activities including beach rides, mountain hacks and woodland treks.

The Morfa Bay Adventure centre in Pendine offers you a walk on the wildside. Activities include abseiling, coastal climbing, surfing, kayaking, caving, sand yachting, hill walking, assault courses and archery - to name but a few!

And when all this activity proves a little too strenuous, you can relax on the riverbanks of the Tywi, Cothi and Teifi and chill out.
